Why Braided Extension Leads?

Why braided extension leads?

When it comes to industrial power – safety and durability are key!

Companies need to be able to trust their equipment when on site. Powersafe Products is committed to providing a wide range of portable power distribution products that customers can count on. The highest quality product, the best power solutions, and outstanding service.

ADDITIONAL SAFETY OF BRAIDED LEADS

Braided leads are internally the same as normal extension leads, however they have an additional copper braid around the diameter which is then covered by another UV stablished outer sheath. The tinned copper braid is connected to the earth which provides the added safety against electric shocks. Allowing the electricity to flow to the earth, tripping the RCD or earth safety protection device.

Braided leads are far stronger and more durable than the standard extension leads. Heavy duty and flexible in design, with IP66 plug and socket, leads can withstand mechanical stress, oil, chemical corrosion and damp or wet environments.

WHY 3 PHASE SYSTEMS; SO WIDELY USED

Single phase systems will supply alternating current using two conductors, whereas a three-phase system has an additional conductor resulting in a 200% increase in the amount of power transmitted. This is a more efficient and cost effective option, which is why a number of business and industrial facilities are using three-phase leads.
