PSOAs in general use

  • PSOA in use on construction sites must have regulatory approval and be marked with RCM or approval number and certified to AS3190 in accordance with AS3012
  • EPODS e.g. “domestic type power boards” shall not be used on construction sites AS3012:2.6.12.

Power board on inverter generator or portable inverter

  • Power boards used on inverter generators or portable inverters must be tested for both a.c. and DC pulse residual current (must be type A RCD) AS4763:15.12
  • The RCD shall be suitable for the earth fault waveform of the supply (inverter) in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. AS3000:7.3.5.2.2
  • The best solution is a board featuring the Powersafe RCD DUO with earth sensing device made for use in isolated supplies such as inverters and generators.
